2023 SUMMER READING
SAINT RICHARD CATHOLIC SCHOOL
2023 Summer Reading
Dear Parents and Family,
What a great year we’ve had! We’ve made so much progress in reading and math over the
year. We’ve also participated in many engaging and creative projects all while developing skills
essential to academic success. Research shows that students not engaged in educatinal
activities over the summer can lose about 20% of their gains in reading and 27% of their gains in
math. As your student moves to the next grade, here are some things you can do to ensure they
are successful and have a smooth transition back to school.
Read 15-30 minutes daily while asking and answering comprehension questions.
