I am originally from Chartlotte, NC, although I now call MS home! I served for more than ten years as a Pediatric Nurse before going back to school and receiving my BA in Elementary Education at Millsaps College. I currently hold MS licensure and am certified to teach K through 6, although my true love is early childhood and I have never veered far from this as my past experience shows.
Over my 36 years in education (VA, NC and MS) I have been in the positions of classroom teacher (prek and k), director of four church operated pre-schools, an Early Childhood Co-Ordinator of a Catholic elementary school, and of course, Teacher of kinders! I have also had the privilege of teaching reading to illiterate adults that wanted to earn their GED. This is my sixth year at Saint Richard, and I cannot say enough good things about our school and program. I hope to retire from here, although not any time soon! (I kiddingly tell our principal that she may need to push me down the hall one day in a wheelchair . . . THAT is how long I hope to stay in the SR “family”).
I have two grown children and a grandchild that attends SR, as well as another grandchild that lives in Asheville, NC. I have been married to Greg Proctor, an Episcopal Priest since 1972 and we live in Jackson proper. I have one long-haired cat named Ollie and a yellow Lab named “Buddy.”
I have a wonderful life, and family and am fortunate to have a job that I love ( and that I do not really considered a “job” but rather a calling). I am blessed!
