SAINT RICHARD UNIFORM POLICY

 

 

The following guidelines have been established to enable families to comply with uniform requirements. Questions regarding permissible uniform dress should be directed to the Principal at [email protected] Uniforms are required for all students. Saint Richard school house shirts and t-shirts are permissible to wear on Fridays throughout the school year.

 

SAINT RICHARD UNIFORM VENDOR

All uniforms must per purchased from TC’s SCHOOL UNIFORMS or from our CARDINAL CLOSET (gently used school uniforms) available on campus at designated times. Parents will be informed of CARDINAL CLOSET sales via social media or the school’s weekly memo.

SAINT RICHARD MASS UNIFORM

An Oxford Blue Mass uniform shirt with the Saint Richard emblem is required for Mass and some school events. This should be worn with navy shorts, skorts or pants or the Saint Richard plaid skort.

 

 

SAINT RICHARD UNIFORM – BOYS

Approved uniform for boys includes the following options:

  • Navy blue shorts with grey performance or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem. Belts must be worn.
  • Navy blue pants with grey performance or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem. Belts must be worn.
  • Navy blue shorts or navy-blue pants with Oxford Blue Mass uniform shirt. Belts must be worn.
  • Boys in PreK-1st may wear all-elastic shorts or pants. Belts are not required.
  • Boys in 2nd through 6th Grade are required to wear a belt. Belts must be black, brown, or navy.
  • Socks must be solid white with no lettering or graphics.
  • Shoes must be closed-toe, closed-sides, and closed-heel of one main color. Boots, Crocs, Heelys or Light-Up are not allowed. 
  • On P.E. days, students must wear tennis shoes with non-marking soles. 
  • Boys may not wear earrings of any kind.

 

SAINT RICHARD UNIFORM – GIRLS

Approved uniform for girls includes the following options:

  • Navy blue skort with Peter Pan blouse or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem.
  • Plaid skort with Peter Pan blouse or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem.
  • Navy blue pants with Peter Pan blouse or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem.
  • Navy blue shorts with Peter Pan blouse or red knit shirt with Saint Richard emblem.
  • Navy blue skort, plaid skort, navy blue pants with Oxford blue Mass uniform shirt.
  • Girls in PreK-1st may wear all-elastic shorts. Belts are not required.
  • Girls in 2nd through 6th Grade students wearing pants or shorts are required to wear a belt. Belts must be black, brown, or navy.
  • Socks must be solid white with no lettering or graphics.
  • Solid white or solid navy-blue tights are optional substitutions for socks. Solid navy or white leggings are also permitted if socks cover the bottom of the leggings. No skin should be showing between the leggings and the socks.
  • Shoes must be closed-toe, closed-sides, and closed-heel of one main color. Boots, Crocs, Heelys or Light-Up shoes are not allowed. 
  • On P.E. days, students must wear tennis shoes with non-marking soles.
  • Girls may wear stud earrings ONLY – no hoops or dangles.
  • Girls are required to wear modesty shorts under skirts or dresses in PreK – 1st
  • Girls are strongly encouraged to wear a camisole under white shirts.

 

OUTERWEAR FOR ALL STUDENTS 

Only approved uniform outerwear with Saint Richard emblem can be worn in the classroom and school building. Approved outerwear includes

  • Red sweatshirt with Saint Richard logo
  • Navy blue fleece jacket with the Saint Richard logo
  • Red cardigan sweater with Saint Richard logo
  • Navy blue windbreaker jacket with Saint Richard logo

 

OUTERWEAR AVAILABLE THROUGH SPECIAL ORDER 

This outwear is approved to wear and is made available through special order during the school year. Parents will be notified of special orders through social media, the student’s “At Home” folder or the school’s weekly memo.

  • Red Saint Richard athletics sweatshirts (available through special order)
  • Navy Blue with red Saint Richard logo sweatshirt (available through special order)
 
 

An approved school uniform shirt MUST be worn under any outerwear. In addition, outerwear items should be clearly labeled with the student’s name to avoid confusion between students. All  monogramming (optional) for outerwear must be ordered through TC’s Uniforms at www.tcsums.com.

 

 

GENERAL UNIFORM GUIDELINES FOR ALL STUDENTS

 

Please review these important uniform guidelines and ensure that your student adheres to these rules.

 

  • All uniform items must be in good condition and free from stains or holes.
  • Uniform shirts and blouses may be long or short sleeved and must have Saint Richard emblem.
  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times. 
  • Saint Richard t-shirts are allowed (at the discretion of the Principal) and can only be worn on Fridays throughout the school year. The following t-shirts are permitted: Cardinalfest, Krewe de Cardinal, Flight to the Finish,
  • House t-shirts are only permitted on designated House t-shirt days which are announced in advance and posted on the portal calendar.
  • PE Gym t-shirts are only permitted for PE
  • 5th and 6Th Grade students must wear a Saint Richard gym t-shirt and Saint Richard gym shorts to P.E. class and may wear the PE uniform to school on PE days. Solid colored sweatpants may be worn over the PE uniform by students on cold days.
  • Hair should be neat and trimmed regularly, combed, out of the eyes and appropriate length. No excessive hair styles, colors, unusual designs or tails (at the discretion of the administration).
  • Boys hair is not to touch the eyebrows, collar or ears.
  • Students may not wear make-up of any kind. Nail polish and perfume are not permitted.
  • No fake tattoos or other body decoration is allowed.
  • Undershirts may be worn under the uniform. Shirt must be solid white with not lettering or graphics.
  • No excessive head wear or accessories. Head wear should be in keeping with uniform colors of red, navy, or white.
  • Fridays are designated as “Jeans for Green.” Participation is voluntary. Students are permitted to wear jeans, jean shorts, and jean skirts (fingertip length) with a uniform shirt or approved t-shirt for a $1.
  • FREE DRESS DAY rewards may be given with the approval of the principal. Students must wear appropriate clothing and are not permitted to wear short shorts, short skirts, spaghetti straps, halters, or strapless tops.
  • Appropriate dress is always required for special events including May Crowning and Graduation.
      • Girls are not allowed to wear spaghetti straps, halters or strapless dresses. Heels higher than 3 inches are not permitted. Hemlines may be no higher than 3 inches above the knee (measured from the floor while kneeling).
      • Girls may wear stud earrings ONLY – no hoops or dangles. Only Saint medallions and cross necklaces are allowed.
      • Boys must wear dress slacks or khakis with a belt and a dress shirt (tie optional). Jackets may be worn but are not required. Dress shoes with appropriate socks should be worn.
      • Boys may not wear earrings of any kind. Only Saint medallions and cross necklaces are allowed.
